2017 Excellence in Structural Engineering Awards Gala – Call for Entries

The time has come to solicit project entries for the 2017 SEA MW Excellence in Structural Engineering Awards. We are very excited to begin the planning process as this will be our eleventh annual awards gala. Below, you will find the official Call for Entries Form, and the Intent to Enter Form to be filled out for each intended project. As in years past, this initial step doesn’t entail compiling the complete project entries. Instructions and entry materials will be sent to all firms which turn in Intent to Enter Forms. We continue to welcome projects of varying categories and construction costs.

2016 Excellence in Structural Engineering Awards Gala

SEA-MW recently celebrated its highlight event of the year, the Excellence in Structural Engineering Awards Gala. 2016 was the tenth anniversary of the first gala, which we celebrated with a special video presentation featuring several of our past Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award winners. This year’s event was held at the Newseum in Washington DC on February 20. Thank you to all this year’s sponsors and congratulations to all of this years award winners.

The Next Step: A Forum for Future Structural Engineers

The Next Step: A Forum for Future Structural Engineers is a free event held in Washington DC, on November 11, 2016. This event will be a great opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to learn more about the structural engineering profession, connect with other local structural engineering students, meet with local professionals, participate in the career fair, and get exposure to future potential employers. The program will include presentations by local engineers and a keynote speech by Founder and CEO of CSI Berkley Ashraf Habibullah. Presentations will touch on a variety of introductory and in-depth topics within the field of Structural Engineering. There will also be a career fair attended by many of the premier local (and global) structural engineering firms. With the local construction market heating up and structural engineering offices busier than ever, this will be a great opportunity to get your resume in the hands of local companies and secure a full-time or internship position for the coming year.
